The Wait is Over

We’ve seen spy photos galore and chased rumors to the edges of the globe and now the wait is coming to an end for the much anticipated arrival of the new Jeep Compass. And expectations are high.

Recently, Fiat Chrysler revealed the new 2017 Jeep Compass, a member of the compact SUV segment, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Jeep wants the  new Compass to be a smaller version of the great selling Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a good sized list of available opportunities to make the Jeep Compass an off-roader or a city rider or something inbetween. It can be a very versatile vehicle to be sure.

The new #2017JeepCompass will have one engine, a four-cylinder, 2.4 liter Tigershark engine. It will pour out 180 horsepower with a choice of 4×2 or 4×4 capability. The Jeep Compass for 2017 will have a six-speed automatic transmission available on the 4×2 and the 4×4 will have a nine-speed automatic.

The off-roaders will be glad to hear that the Compass will come in a Trailhawk trim. Trailhawk trim is full of off-roading must haves. The suspension on a Trailhawk will have various degrees of angle for the ups and downs of rough terrain. Trailhawks have a hill descent control feature for support on the downside of a hill and the Selec-Terrain rotary dial will have a Rock mode for the bumps.

This new model Jeep is a combination compromise of the previous Compass and Patriot in which one was the rough tumbler and the other a commuting vehicle. People want more, and Jeep is delivering more.

Excitement for the new Compass is huge. Mike Manley, Jeep brand CEO believes the Compass will be the Jeep’s top seller by 2018. With five models of the Compass to choose from and many available niceties, the new 2017 Jeep Compass has something for every type of driver who loves the Jeep brand.
