Storing Your Vehicle The Smart Way

If you’re going on a long trip or have a summer Subaru that won’t be used over the winter months, Pine Belt Subaru has a few things to keep in mind. Short-term storage would typically be between 3 and 6 months and long-term would be anything longer than that. If your vehicle isn’t stored properly during long-term storage, your engine and cylinder surface can rust and you’ll also risk fuel and carburetor issues. Before you just park and forget it, try these ideas from our Subaru dealer NJ.

Education About Storage

  • Batteries – get a charger or maintainer that you can plug into the wall. They will keep the battery charged long-term and are typically not too expensive. Pine Belt Subaru also suggests disconnecting the battery.
  • Fuel Additives – Adding this will prevent octane loss. Empty the tank as much as you can, add the additive then fill the tank back up. This will maintain octane levels and prevent any rusting from forming inside.
  • Spark Plugs – Have Pine Belt Subaru install better plugs to OE or OE equivalent is the best option before storing your ride.
  • Fogging Oil – Using this oil protects everything from rusting in intake and exhaust inside the cylinder head. It’s very important if you’ll be storing your vehicle long-term.

shutterstock_142918999

The car is making a noise. You panic! You automatically think you are going to be taken to the cleaners. Okay, take a breath and before you decide to run off to a mechanic, and take a minute or two to consider your options. Just a little bit of forethought and knowledge will get you to where you need to be.

Find the owner’s manual. Information contained in the owner’s manual is indexed and makes it quick to find solutions to the vehicle’s malady. Maybe it’s user error with the plethora of knobs without know-how on the console.

What is the trim of your car? This can tell you a whole lot about your vehicle. Know where your VIN (vehicle identification number) is located on your car. If you need service, you will need to have the VIN number at your fingertips.

Where do you go if you have to take your car to be serviced? Local garage? Dealership? Easy to answer. Dealership. They are trained experts on YOUR vehicle and whatever the issue, they won’t be guessing and they will fix it right the first time.

If you only have time to get to the local garage, make sure the mechanic is A.S.E. certified. These are trained mechanics and can give you better peace of mind that someone capable is working on your car.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions about why they are doing something or how something works. You are the customer and should always be learning more about your car.

Always ask for quality manufacturer parts. They may c0st a few bucks more but they will ultimately cost you less in maintenance.

Describing The Subaru WRX

Subaru WRX

The 4th generation model is equipped with a sharper and smarter steering. The new model is now equipped with a D-shaped steering, a wheel with smaller diameter than before.

The steering ratio of an electric power steering is 14:5:1. Moreover the bushing stiffness gearbox mount of Subaru has been increased by 230 percent.

There have been changes in WRX’s rear and front suspension as well.  Its front suspension now has stiff cross-members with the rigidity getting increased for control arm bushings, larger stabilizer bar, thicker strut cylinder, higher lateral stiffness among many other technical changes.

Its turbo has now been mounted right beneath the vehicle’s boxer engine that has led to the increase in its crank pins to 50mm from the earlier 48.

Similar boxer sound is brought again by its exhaust system but is now tuned in a better manner as a cylinder chamber has now been abolished and the inside pipe has been shortened.

There have been upgrades in its brakes from 11.6 to 12.4 inches. The thickness of the brakes in the new Subaru WRX has gone up to 30 mm from 6 mm.

All the Subaru WRX models are equipped with 17-inch wheels and though the weight of the wheels has not changes as compared to the earlier model, the rigidity has gone up by 5 percent.

Base model and the WRX premium are two of the variants from Subaru WRX for Australia. The latter is powered with extra equipment.

Some of the colors in which Subaru WRX is available are ice silver metallic, crystal white pearl, dark gray metallic and galaxy blue silica among others. In total, the car is available in 7 different colors.

Subaru and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Partner To Deliver 30,000 Blankets to Those With Cancer

Subaru Logo

During the month of June Subaru of America joined forces with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to raise awareness and money for cancer patients living with blood cancers through the US.  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to the treatment and cure of blood cancers.  The campaign titled “Subaru Loves to Care” brought together 54 LLS chapters and 393 Subaru dealers in this effort and successfully delivered 30,000 blankets to cancer patients.

Along with the blankets, consumers who visited the participating dealerships also had the opportunity to hand write personalized notes to be delivered to local cancer patients; providing not only warmth and comfort to their physical bodies, but also for mind and spirits. In return for the notes participants received an LLS and Subaru bracelet, spreading awareness of the decease even further.

Both Thomas J. Doll, president and COO of Subaru of America, Inc. and LLS president and CEO, Dr. Louis J. DeGennaro we ecstatic and overjoyed with the outcome of this campaign and hope their combined efforts inspire others.

Come over to Pine Belt and enjoy test driving any Subaru car.

Performance and the Subaru WRX

Subaru WRX

The Subaru WRX now has the ability of higher torque and power with more advanced standard equipment while charging the most reasonable entry cost. The WRX has been designed to deliver extra performance and has improved in its fuel economy by more than 11 percent.

One of the best features of Subaru WRX is the new 2.0-liter DOHC direct-injected, intercooled, turbocharged aluminum-alloy, 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS). The engine makes it operate effortlessly and smoothly.

The 5-speed manual transmission of WRX’s previous model has been replaced with a new fully synchronized 6-speed manual with carbon 1st and 2nd gear synchros and Incline Start Assist. The option for an automatic version with 8 artificial gears has brought back an option for automatic transmission so that its market appeal can be widened.

As far as the brakes of the Subaru WRX are concerned, they are excessively good. Active Torque Vectoring works with the VDC applying braking power to the inside front wheel, resulting in sharper turns, neutral steering, and higher cornering limits. In fact, technically speaking, there is simply nothing incorrect with them.

Choose any Subaru car and get ready for a test drive at Pine Belt.

2017 Subaru BRZ- Full coverage- Part 3

BRZ

This is the concluding part of the article and discussed about the interior features of Subaru BRZ of 2017.

Interior features

The interior of the Subaru BRZ for 2017 has quite a lot of similarities with its earlier models and yet you will observe some changes inside. If you look at the styling, you will observe that its cabin appears quite identical to its earlier model. Both its Limited and Premium trims come with simulated leather insert and its center dash comes in red colored stitching. This is a replacement of its previous year’s plastic insert in grey color. The new color is a match for its remaining interior.

BRZ’s premium trim level comes with a steering wheel that is wrapped with leather and a red stitching to complement the new Bluetooth and audio controls. Moreover, the steering wheel’s bottom spoke has a tiny slit in its center, giving it greater character.

You cannot miss a color display measuring 4.2 inch serving as a information system for the driver. Apart from these revisions, Subaru BRZ appears quite similar to its previous model as far as the interior is concerned.

The use of black color has been lavishly done in its interior along with contrast stitching in red. You cannot miss out the silver inserts place on the trim panels of its door and the steering wheel. BRZ’s base model is also equipped with an infotainment display screen that is smaller in size. Its upper trim levels come with a Starlink system measuring 6.2 inch along with support for integrating smartphones for its Pandora and Aha.

To check out the Subaru BRZ, walk into Pine Belt today.

2017 Subaru BRZ- Full coverage- Part 2

BRZ
Exterior Features
Though Subaru BRZ has been revamped for its 2017 model, do not have any expectations that there will be big differences on its exterior features. You will observe a similar hood with a similar grille with wide-mouth and a running long insert on its top edge.
But there is a change in its headlights and the front fascia of the car. The headlights now sport a different look with its LED light strip dominating more. The shape of its current fascia may be same though its width is little more now. Moreover, the fascia’s front lip curves in an upward direction now so that the vents sport more like a three-dimensional look. The LED fog lamps are located in its upper trim levels.
BRZ also has a similar tale to tell with respect to its rear and sides that have seen little alterations in its styling. But the 17- inch wheels made of aluminum alloy have been a change as compared to its earlier model.
Its upper trim levels sport a rear spoiler in body-color with full-LED taillights in the rear. Apart from that, it was decided by Subaru that the BRZ was exactly okay apart from making some alterations in its rear diffuser and side skirts.

Walk into Pine Belt if you are looking to buy a new car.

2017 Subaru BRZ- Full coverage- Part 1

BRZ

It was around last decade when Toyota joined Subaru to form a team and introduce a rear-wheel driven and compact sports car. The year 2012 saw the unveiling of Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 in the market.
Toyota also marketed BRZ with the name FR-S through its Scion brand till there was a dissolution of the brand in the year 2016. Subaru has also renovated its BRZ for 2017 by incorporating some fresh features to a sports car which was regarded to be fast aging.
Those who are unaware of the revamp, the vehicle’s front fascia are updated now and the vehicle will now feature standard 17-inch wheels made of aluminum alloy. The premium models of Subaru BRZ will now feature automatic headlights that can be adjusted automatically, hill start assist, daytime running lights, simulated leather on its dash trim’s center, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, aluminum spoiler that is body-colored along with a vehicle stability control.
BRZ’s limited models are fortunate to get extra goodies that include a fresh instrument cluster, LED fog lights, and a choice for its paddle shifters on steering wheel. There are more extra goodies in the limited trim edition such red stitching and simulated leather on the boot and paddle-shift control switches.
The models of BRZ that have a manual transmission may optionally have a fresh performance package with black colored alloy wheels, Sachs shock absorbers in its rear and front and Brembo brake system. It can be observed that a majority of the extra goodies are available with BRZ’s Limited and Premium trims, However, they will help in keeping this model fresh until the time Subaru along with Toyota can introduce a new generation of its compact sports car.

You can visit Pine Belt to test drive the all-new Subaru BRZ.

How 2017 Subaru WRX/STI Keeps Setting New Records – Part II

Subaru 1

This is the second part of how Subaru’s WRX STI has been setting impressive records. Do read the first part before you continue.

Subaru WRX models that featured EyeSight now are also equipped with fog lights that are Steering Responsive. This functions whenever the fog lights are switched off by you and gets the right or left fog light activated independently. It is dependent on the speed of the vehicle and the steering angle.

This is a feature of Subaru WRX STI that offers greater illumination depending upon the direction of your vehicle’s turn. Its fog lights are thus pre-aimed to provide maximum coverage even in corners.

Although the Subaru WRX STI and WRX for 2017 are known for their great motorsport credentials, Subaru’s new models are equipped with a more refined cockpit. This cockpit features a host of desirable and great features that can provide extra comfort, as well as, added convenience foe everyday commuting.

However, Subaru’s sports models provide improved tuning. They also deliver the latest technologies for motorsport for those buyers who want to get true performance. Both these models of Subaru are capable of delivering enhanced response, unparallel control levels and sharper handling that will simply thrill the performance enthusiasts. There is little wonder that Subaru’s WRX/STI has been setting new and exciting records on the roads and tracks.

If you are looking to buy a Subaru, please visit Pine Belt today.

How 2017 Subaru WRX/STI Keeps Setting New Records – Part I

Subaru 1

There is a small island between Ireland and England that becomes a haven for sports and speed enthusiasts every year. Many of these speed freaks ride motorbikes at unreasonable paces to say the least. However, now Subaru has started making a habit of joining in and trying to prove that a four wheeler can also run with two wheels.

There has been no exception to the rule as far as the current year is concerned. Subaru is introducing its WRX STI, a race-prepped vehicle. The intention is quite simple and obvious. It will make an attempt to create another record of its kind around a road course that spans for about 60 km.

Earlier the team of Subaru had entered into a tie up with the famous driver, Mark Higgins and made him drive mostly all those WRX/STIs that were fresh from the showroom.  But, Subaru made a decision to do it little differently this time around.

Though Subaru did tie up with Mark Higgins even this year, the run was definitely different this year as it was not possible to simple go up to a Subaru dealer, located near your home and ask the salesperson that you want to own a WRX/STI that should be exactly like the one driven by Mark Higgins. No, that would not be possible this year as the one being driven by Higgins has a horsepower of 550 and is race-prepped.

The result was simply fabulous which in all likelihood must have made Subaru become ecstatic.  It did a lap of 17:35.139 along the racing course with an average of 207 kilometer per hour and exhibited a top speed of little over 271 kilometer per hour.

Do drop in at Pine Belt if you are interested to test drive a Subaru.
