Subaru to Wait Until 2020 for WRX Redesign

Subaru

Subaru Impreza lovers, you’re wait is just beginning.  If you are holding our for a new WRX or STI, you’ll have to wait until 2019 or 2020.  A senior engineer at Subaru said, “The WRX will have a facelift soon, not a full model cycle, because the new model just launched in 2015.  The full model cycle will be about four or five years, and that’s when you’ll see a full model.”

The delay is due to the amount of time it takes to develop a new model, and not the cost.  “You just can’t shorten that production cycle.  There’s many things to consider, such as durability testing and likewise.”

He did say the current WRX will get a refresh soon.  “Subaru would love to have the WRX on the new platform, because the car would be a lot better, but the 2-10 will be a facelift only.”

The 2017 Subaru Impreza 2.0 Sport First Drive is also in the news. It’s the first vehicle to be built on Subaru’s new global platform, and the first to be built in North America.  It’s as flexible as it is fun to drive.  After 25 years, the vehicle has been reimaged from door pulls to the engine.  It’s all about the latest in performance.  It’s been built on a whole new chassis, which will also be found on all future models, over time.

What You Need To Know Before Buying The Impreza WRX-STI: What to Look For I

WRX STI

The word STI itself speaks volumes about the vehicle’s superb rally-bred performance and a turbocharged powerful engine. The STI has an impressive pedigree with over ten years of history in the United States of America.

If you are really contemplating the purchase of an STI, you should actually go ahead without much deliberation. It is indeed a superb car from Subaru that you simply won’t be able to resist to drive and own. Moreover, it is relatively affordable and that is an added attraction for the potential buyers.

The STI was originally available only as a Sedan. The TI with GD-chassis came to the United States with much fanfare as a 2004 model. The combination of features that it constituted of at that time was really lethal with its 2.5L engine with 300 horsepower, along with Brembo brakes, all-weather grip, enormous rear wing made it a huge craze when it was introduced in the market.

It was a car that made the fans of US rally to drive like Burns, Solberg or a McRae and bring this ultimate dream car back home so that they can get it parked in their driveway.

The STI model of 2004 was appealing to all including their proud owners. The original models did not have immobilizers fitted in them. The model of 2004’s bolt pattern was slightly different from its later successes that is shared with the WRX. The model that was introduced in 2005 looked quite similar to the 2004 model but is equipped with the bold pattern 5×114.3 that would continue for the next ten years with an updated interior and the signature immobilizer. The 2005 model is a little bulkier than its predecessor but otherwise, both of them are identical. If you want to test drive a Subaru Impreza, visit Pine Belt.
