Subaru – It’s About So Much More Than Vehicles

Subaru

It’s hard for Pine Belt Subaru to focus on vehicle sales when there are so many other things going on in the world. Our Subaru dealer NJ’s automaker, Subaru of America, Inc., has announced how they’ve been giving back in the wake of recent natural disasters. Subaru has donated an additional $100,000 to the American Red Cross due to wildfires charging through the Western U.S.

Aiding Those Impacted

Subaru makes it a goal to donate $100,000 each year to support proactive response to disaster relief efforts for the Red Cross. They are also a platinum member of the Ready 365 Giving Program. After the hurricanes hit, they matched their annual donation with another $100,000 and then tripled—yes, you heard that right, tripled their support in 2017 with another $100,000. Pine Belt Subaru is impressed!

Our Employees Step Up, Too

It’s not just our automaker that donates. The Subaru of America Foundation has created a way for employees like Pine Belt Subaru’s to give back. Employee donations to eligible organizations providing disaster relief will be matched by the matching gifts program. Through November 30th there will be a $2/$1 matching for all relief efforts.

President and COO of Subaru of America Thomas J. Doll said, “At Subaru, it is part of our Love Promise to help our neighbors in times of need. We strongly believe it is our responsibility to support our communities. When we watched the devastation that has hit some of the areas, we knew we had to do more. While we know the need is great, we hope these funds will help to provide some support to those in the areas that need it most.”

Give Back With Pine Belt Subaru

Here at Pine Belt Subaru, we believe that giving back to our community is something you should do everyday, not just when disaster hits. If you’d like to hear more about how you can help, call or visit our Lakewood car dealers today.

Subaru Enters The EV World

Subaru EV

Pine Belt Subaru is pleased to announce that a new all-electric and plug-in hybrid models will be coming to our Subaru dealer NJ. Our automaker has always been very independent. But to bring the EV dream to life, we’ll gladly take the assistance from Mazda, Denso and Toyota. Here’s what we know so far.

Coming Soon

Toyota and Mazda announced at the end of September that they will be joining Denso in a joint venture. The group will come together to design, test and built various components for a shared EV platform. Well, Subaru felt left out so they will also join in the partnership to acquire basic technology needed to develop our very own EV, coming to Pine Belt Subaru in 2021-2022.

What Will It Be

Even though they are in a joint venture with Toyota, Mazda and Denso, that doesn’t mean Subaru is will to change the Subie look. Pine Belt Subaru top selling models are the Outback, Crosstrek and Forester. We’re thinking one of these will be used as the platform for a new EV. An even better idea is to use the brand new 2019 Ascent, a 3-Row SUV. The  head of Subaru of America Communications, Michael McHale, says “In general, we are pursuing our own program, and will have a vehicle (EV) on the market in the 2020 timeframe.”

Go Electric With Pine Belt Subaru

Pine Belt Subaru isn’t surprised to hear Subaru is in the works of an electric vehicle. Our Lakewood car dealers is looking forward to hearing which model is chosen for the new EV. If you’re interested in getting one of these bad boys, stay connected with us as more information is released. As always, head in to see us if you’re in the market for a new or preowned vehicle!

Subaru BRZ Highlights from Pine Belt Subaru

Subaru has always been known for backroads and outdoor adventure. When Subaru introduced a Subaru without AWD in 2012, heads turned as this new track-honed model was built with only the blacktop in mind. At Pine Belt Subaru, the best Subaru dealer NJ, we want you to know about this amazing vehicle.

The Subaru BRZ has 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. This agile two-seater hits 60 mph in approximately 6.2 seconds. While these numbers may seem familiar a new, limited 2018 Subaru BRZ model brings something new to the table in terms of suspension.

The 2018 BRZ tS model actually expands on the upgrade found in the 2017 chassis. For 2018, the car borrows wheels, front and rear SACHS® dampers and coil springs and V braces from its model-mate, the STI.

The tS model also stands out from other BRZs with a carbon fiber spoiler. You can even fine-tune the spoiler’s rear downforce manually. In addition, the tS stands out with Cherry Blossom Red accents at the front grill, a signature rear bumper and a tS badge.  As if the spoiler wasn’t enough already!

Newer BRZ models lightened the clutch weight and continue to refine the stellar shifting. You can slip through the 6-speed manual like a knife through hot butter!  As the engine revs and the G-forces pull you back in your seat, you’ll love the power and torque, as well as the brilliant audible feedback from the racing exhaust.

The Subaru BRZ models are truly a performance enthusiast’s dream. If you want to test drive the best sports car around, you’ll want to come to Pine Belt Subaru.  The new limited edition models are arriving and they’ll go fast!

You can check out our inventory online at www.pinebeltsubaru.com, and also make a service appointment.  Among car dealerships in NJ, no one beats Pine Belt Subaru!

Remember The Subaru Baja?

Subaru Truck

The Subaru Baja. A compact pickup that hit the North American market after the International Auto Show back in January 2001. It was the successor to the Brat pickup, something a little smaller, and they were both based Subaru’s wagon platform. Well, since Hurricane Harvey and Irma hit Texas and Florida, the market for mid-size pickup trucks is booming. Pine Belt Subaru thinks this is the perfect time for our automaker to bring back the Baja.

Thanks To Harvey And Irma

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles were destroyed in Texas and Florida. Midsize pickup interest has skyrocketed 26% in Houston since Harvey came around, according to data from Jumpstart Automotive Media. Shoppers in Florida have also been looking for pickups since Irma hit. Interest is up 21% across the entire state and 26% in Miami alone. If Pine Belt Subaru learned anything from these disasters, it’s that Subaru could cash in on the explosion of mid-size pickup sales. It only took three weeks to reveal a lot about American’s buying trends, as least in these two states.

If Anything Happens, We’re Hoping For Updated First

If our Subaru dealer NJ was being completely honest, the Baja wasn’t the perfect vehicle. It only held four passengers and was missing a middle seat. Only a small part of the midgate folded down making it hard to haul extra cargo. The back bed was a little smaller than Pine Belt Subaru had hoped for, too. Well, there’s always room for improvement and the explosion of the mid-size pickup market could be the perfect time to resurrect the Baja into something new.

A new Global Platform has been developed for every new-generation vehicles, like the Ascent 3-Row crossover. The larger versions Platform, the Ascent SUV, could also be used as a launching point for a new Baja. Make a few changes to the outside design, cut off the back and voila! You’ve got an awesome 4-door, all-wheel-drive pickup. Manufacture it alongside the Ascent 3-Row in Indiana, offer with the new 2.5-liter direct injection four-cylinder boxer or 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine. It could be amazing.

Keep Dreaming With Pine Belt Subaru

Pine Belt Subaru might be dreaming but we think a revamped Baja would be a hot-ticket item in the American pickup market to compete with the Nissan Frontier, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, we’d love to show you what we have here at our Lakewood car dealers so head in to see us soon!

Storing Your Vehicle The Smart Way

If you’re going on a long trip or have a summer Subaru that won’t be used over the winter months, Pine Belt Subaru has a few things to keep in mind. Short-term storage would typically be between 3 and 6 months and long-term would be anything longer than that. If your vehicle isn’t stored properly during long-term storage, your engine and cylinder surface can rust and you’ll also risk fuel and carburetor issues. Before you just park and forget it, try these ideas from our Subaru dealer NJ.

Education About Storage

  • Batteries – get a charger or maintainer that you can plug into the wall. They will keep the battery charged long-term and are typically not too expensive. Pine Belt Subaru also suggests disconnecting the battery.
  • Fuel Additives – Adding this will prevent octane loss. Empty the tank as much as you can, add the additive then fill the tank back up. This will maintain octane levels and prevent any rusting from forming inside.
  • Spark Plugs – Have Pine Belt Subaru install better plugs to OE or OE equivalent is the best option before storing your ride.
  • Fogging Oil – Using this oil protects everything from rusting in intake and exhaust inside the cylinder head. It’s very important if you’ll be storing your vehicle long-term.

Use The Professionals At Pine Belt Subaru

If you’re not confident to check the above safely, come in to see us at Pine Belt Subaru. The Service Department technicians will prep your vehicle for storage so you can rest assured there will be no damage when you are ready to drive it again. Schedule an appointment online or stop into our Lakewood car dealers today.

A Lot To Love About Our 2017 Subaru Crosstrek

The new year brought Pine Belt Subaru an updated Crosstrek. Our Subaru dealer NJ says goodbye to the Hybrid and hello to the 2.0i Premium Special Edition. Some things to highlight in the new trim level include rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and ambient cabin lighting. Let’s take a closer look into the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek.

The Good Stuff

Our Crosstrek is great for the outdoorsy type who isn’t interested in a truck or bigger SUV. It’s also a great choice living in Lakewood come the snowy, slippery, winter months. Pine Belt Subaru calls it the more rugged version of our Impreza but it has a higher ground clearance, trail-ready styling, and beefed-up suspension. A manual transmission choice lets you command your own gear changes, which is super fun. The 2017 offers a lot of great standard features including a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, roomy cargo and interior areas and all-wheel drive.

The Model We Recommend

You can probably guess which one Pine Belt Subaru suggests. It’s the new 2.0i Premium. But we’re going to recommend upgrading the touchscreen for the infotainment package and adding the EyeSight safety system. It’s definitely a lot to handle so make sure you’re ready for a manual transmission. This model gives you the most flexibility when it comes to features. The infotainment systems offer voice controls, you get heated front seats and we love the upgraded speakers to kick up the base.

Trek Into Pine Belt Subaru

We know, this sounds tempting. That’s why you should trek on into our Lakewood car dealers to test drive the 2017 Crosstrek. While you’re here at Pine Belt Subaru, we suggest browsing our other new and preowned Subaru vehicles. If the Crosstrek doesn’t tickle your fancy, we’re confident there’s something else here that will make your eyes sparkle.

What’s Coming For The Future Of Subaru?

Future Models, Technology, New Models

Have you heard of The Subaru Global Platform, or SGP? Pine Belt Subaru’s automaker spent a whopping $1 billion on the new platform that will support all new-generation models. It’s really been a positive move for our Subaru dealer NJ, especially with the new Impreza and 2018 Crosstrek. You’re probably wondering what’s to come with other models like the Legacy and WRX. Well, here’s what we know, along with some info about two new models joining the lineup.

The Future

Forester – The next model to get the SGP, sticking to the 5 year life-cycle Subaru follows. The 2019 will be completely remodeled and will arrive at our Lakewood car dealers sometime towards the end of 2018.

Outback – Our wagon has been selling like crazy, even without a remodel. It will receive the SGP in 2019 and continue to be popular for customers looking for an all-wheel-drive SUV alternative.

BRZ – You’ll have to wait until 2020 for a second-generation of this sports coupe. It will be the second to last model to get the SGP but word on the street is a turbo engine added to the 2.0-liter boxer.

Legacy – The new SGP will come in 2019. Did you know this is the only sedan in America that comes with all-wheel-drive as a standard feature?

WRX & WRX STI – Next up to get the new platform, arriving to Pine Belt Subaru in 2019. A full remodel is expected and although not confirmed, we’re crossing our fingers for a new DA20 2.0-liter DIT power plant as well as the return of a new 5-Door hatch body style.

All New Models

Ascent – A 3-Row crossover coming in 2018. Seating 7-8 passengers, it’s the biggest vehicle Subaru has ever built and will be on a modified version of the SGP.

Plug-in Hybrid – The global debut comes in 2018 on an existing nameplate. It’s not official but Pine Belt Subaru is thinking it could be on the new Crosstrek, attracting Millennials.

Subaru EV – It’s not coming until 2021 or 2022 but it will be an all-electric vehicle built on one of our existing nameplates. Stay tuned for more details!

They Paid WHAT For The Baby Driver Subaru?

Baby Driver - Subaru Models

Pine Belt Subaru has been following a specific Ebay listing since it first caught our eye. You might be wondering why our Subaru dealer NJ cares about something on Ebay but it’s because of a famous Impreza that joined the Hollywood scene this year with the release of Baby Driver.

You’ve Never Heard Of Baby Driver?

We might be biased, since the hero stunt mobile used in the making of the movie is a Subaru, but Baby Driver is one of Pine Belt Subaru’s favorite flicks of 2017. If you haven’t seen the film yet, we highly recommend it. The improbable stunts pulled off by this baby in the opening scene were quite impressive. It’s amazing to us that it’s still in one piece, too.

What The Buyer Is Getting

There were 71 total bids made, which eventually ended at $69,100. That’s a pretty hefty price tag considering this vehicle has been through the ringer and is far from mint condition. But even with it’s unimpressive condition and 158,000 miles, it’s famous for goodness sake! Pine Belt Subaru thinks $69k is a steal.

A few adjustments were made to this 2006 Impreza WRX. It started out grey but as seen in the movie, it now struts its stuff wearing bright red. It also said goodbye to all-wheel drive and is now a rear-wheel drive vehicle. One last thing, the seller does admit that it has a few scratches and dings. It also no longer has a warranty package available.

No FOMO At Pine Belt Subaru

A $69K used vehicle might not rev your engines. But don’t worry because Pine Belt Subaru has a wide range of affordable preowned vehicles to choose from at our Lakewood car dealers. The only request we make is that you refrain from driving your new ride like Baby does in the film.

It’s a sporty coupe that is sure to get your heart racing, in a good way of course.
