The design and engineering of the 2016 Subaru WRX STI and BRZ is inspired by the automaker’s experience in motorsports. Subaru Tecnica International utilizes its racecar technology to enhance the performance of production models. Subaru has announced its improvements of its racecars for the 2016 racing season. A 2016 WRX STI will competing in the Nurburgring 24 Hours and Global Rallycross Championship, while a 2016 BRZ will be racing in the SUPER GT Series. Subaru is looking to receive its consecutive win at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. The 2016 WRX STI racecar has received a lighter body, enhanced aerodynamics and front downforce, fresh tires, and new engine settings. The 2016 WRX STI that will compete in the Global Rallycross Championship will be lighter and more rigid, as well as have an optimized inertia moment. It is expected for Bucky Lasek and Sverre Isachsen to be driving the rallycar. Lastly, the 2016 BRZ will feature an upgraded chassis, improved front tires, enhanced engine performance, and heightened aerodynamics. Pine Belt Subaru is excited for the 2016 racing season.
