Pine Belt Subaru is pleased to announce that a new all-electric and plug-in hybrid models will be coming to our Subaru dealer NJ. Our automaker has always been very independent. But to bring the EV dream to life, we’ll gladly take the assistance from Mazda, Denso and Toyota. Here’s what we know so far.
Coming Soon
Toyota and Mazda announced at the end of September that they will be joining Denso in a joint venture. The group will come together to design, test and built various components for a shared EV platform. Well, Subaru felt left out so they will also join in the partnership to acquire basic technology needed to develop our very own EV, coming to Pine Belt Subaru in 2021-2022.
What Will It Be
Even though they are in a joint venture with Toyota, Mazda and Denso, that doesn’t mean Subaru is will to change the Subie look. Pine Belt Subaru top selling models are the Outback, Crosstrek and Forester. We’re thinking one of these will be used as the platform for a new EV. An even better idea is to use the brand new 2019 Ascent, a 3-Row SUV. The head of Subaru of America Communications, Michael McHale, says “In general, we are pursuing our own program, and will have a vehicle (EV) on the market in the 2020 timeframe.”
Go Electric With Pine Belt Subaru
Pine Belt Subaru isn’t surprised to hear Subaru is in the works of an electric vehicle. Our Lakewood car dealers is looking forward to hearing which model is chosen for the new EV.
