Defense contractor Hendrick Dynamics in North Carolina is working on a project that may bring the Jeep brand back to the battlefield. The U.S. Army is searching for inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that can be shipped to remote locations to transport troops and cargo through challenging terrains. Hendrick Dynamics is in the midst of modifying a Jeep Wrangler to fulfill the needs of the U.S. Army. The inspiration behind the Wrangler’s design is the Willys MB that was used in World War II. Hendrick Dynamics’ general manager Marshall Carlson stated, “We’ve got a really good opportunity to deliver to the Army a highly capable platform at a significantly reduced cost.” Pine Belt Chrysler-Jeep will keep you updated with the project. Experience the capabilities of a Jeep Wrangler at our dealership in Lakewood.
