Building for America’s Bravest

It is a special man or woman who can serve on active duty in a combat zone. Sometimes they return home to civilian life permanently disabled. These soldiers have served and served honorably. They will never be the same and they deserve to have all the help we can give them in overcoming their disability. For some of these vets, just the simple act of opening a door at home can cause stress that seems like being on a battlefield. Because of everything these soldiers have faced and will continue to face, General Motors is lending its help to build custom homes for disabled U.S. vets through Building for America’s Bravest.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Ben Tomlinson has received a Smart Home. Tomlinson recently commented to General Motors, “Living in this house has made my outlook on life more positive, and I know the impact on my family has been big, if not bigger than it has been for me. I get told all the time that I’m a hero, but to me, the people from Building for America’s Bravest are the real heroes because they’re helping to improve people’s lives. I’m grateful to (General Motors) for supporting their work.”

Building for America’s Bravest builds Smart Homes customized to the targeted needs of the eligible vets. General Motors is raising funds and awareness for the program. There are 46 Smart Homes in development but there is a waiting list for 200 severely disabled vets needing Smart Homes.

We at Pine Belt Chevrolet are proud of our parent company, General Motors, for the work they do on behalf of disabled U.S. military veterans. Their commitment to making lives more comfortable for those that served and now live debilitated lives is commendable. We invite you to come into Pine Belt Chevrolet and find out how you can support Building for America’s Bravest. While you are at Pine Belt Chevrolet, take a test-drive. Come and see for yourself why General Motors is the right brand and Pine Belt Chevrolet is the right dealership, from sales to service, for you.

Why You Should Buy a Used Chevrolet Volt

mm_gal_item_c2_5.img_resize.img_stage._0

The range-extended car that operates on electricity from Chevrolet and is known as Chevrolet Volt has received the highest scores on owner satisfaction in comparison to all the other models sold by General Motors since the time it started to do customer surveys for its buyers. In fact, the features of Chevrolet Volt are so appealing that it has managed to draw new buyers who had not even thought of going for a Chevy earlier.

According to a report shared by GM, about 2/3rd of the Volt miles and eighty percent of Volt trips operate on chargeable batteries that can be charged by electricity though it has a relatively less range of about 35 to 38 miles. This indicates that here is a car that offers you all the benefits of electric running and there is no anxiety about its charge running out fast.

The reason for this feature is that Volt is powered by a 1.4 liter engine that is switched on if the battery charge is low and recharges it so that the car can move for over another 300 miles. Though the concept is great, it is quite complicated to market, advertise and market the same and General Motors have not had the success of doing any of that till date.

With the entry of Chevrolet Volt in the used-car segment, it seems to be a reliable and superior quality option for all such customers who prefer to drive an electric car for most of the times but also need an assurance that even when the battery is low, the car can move about another 250 miles continuously.

If you want to test drive a car, you can drop in at Pine Belt.

Two Chevrolet B-Segment Cars Coming to Markets

Pine Belt 2 Two Chevrolet B-Segment Cars Coming to Markets

General Motors Brazil has revealed the first-ever official images of the new addition to the small car segment. The Chevrolet Agile will be introduced to a select number of South American markets, such as Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The Agile will be built on the Gamma 2 platform in assembly plants located in Argentina and Brazil. What Pine Belt Chevrolet finds interesting is that General Motors will be offering two B-segment vehicles into certain markets. The South/Latin American market will receive the Agile, while the North American market will be receive the next-generation Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo will have similar characteristics as the Chevy Spark. Both the Aveo and Agile will feature two front air inlets that are divided by bar showcasing the Chevrolet bowtie, in order to coincide with the company’s new visual identity for global identification.

General Motors Looking to Hire an Additional 1,200 Employees

Pine Belt 2 General Motors Looking to Hire an Additional 1,200 Employees

Demand for Chevrolet vehicles is increasing, so General Motors needed to find a way to increase its production capacity. Its solution is to add a second shift at its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. This will open up spots for an additional 1,200 employees. Pine Belt Chevrolet in Lakewood sees the benefit for the company, as well as the local economy. The assembly plant currently manufactures two General Motors brands, including three Chevrolet models (Volt, Malibu, Impala). Applications are already available and the new employees will begin working at the 4.1 million square-foot plant in the beginning of next year.
