Construction the new Subaru of America headquarters has recently commenced in Camden, New Jersey. The heart of the automaker’s U.S. operations will now be located in close proximity to the headquarters of the Campbell Soup Company. The automaker has invested $118 million into this new campus that is going to comprise of one 250,000 square-foot main facility and an 83,000 square-foot training facility. Doubling the size of the previous headquarters opens up enough capacity for over 600 employees. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Subaru displayed historic Subaru vehicles from a five decades-long stand in the Delaware Valley. Rather than utilizing a traditional shovel or excavator to move the first dirt pile at the construction site, the automaker chose a Subaru Outback equipped with a plow.
