Actually, it’s true.  This is a great time to buy a new vehicle and for lots of reasons.  First of all, there are fewer buyers out there right now.  So why does that matter?  Car dealerships still have sales quotas, and the fewer people shopping, the fewer buyers.  Many consumers are focused on buying holidays gifts and not vehicles.

 

Another reason is weather.  People don’t like to go out in cold, messy weather to shop for a car or truck.  Because it gets dark earlier, they’re also not as likely to shop in the evenings.

 

Many dealerships are trying to get rid of their current model year vehicles and make room for the new models.  That means you can usually get a great deal on a 2017, so they can make room for the 2018s.

 

At the end of December, dealerships and sales teams are also trying to hit two sales goals:  for the month of December and for the whole year.  Many times automakers add extra incentives to help sales team members make their goals and targets.  Once the new year rolls around, those targets are gone and the offers no longer exist.
