Admit it – if you are an off-roading Jeep lover and must own a pickup truck for the daily work, you always wanted a Jeep pickup. The wait is almost over. Jeep has announced the new Jeep Wrangler pickup will be at Lakewood car dealers, in particular, Pine Belt Chrysler Jeep, in 2017.
Information is still sparse but the Jeep Scrambler reportedly has a 3.6 liter variable valve timing V-6 engine mated with a six-speed transmission. It produces 260 horsepower and carryies the rough and tumble off-road suspension Wranglers are known for.
It was previously reported that Jeep would switch the Wrangler to an all aluminum build but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. The #JeepWranglerScrambler will have a traditional chassis with only aluminum panels.
A Toledo, Ohio assembly plant will build the Scrambler, as well as the next-generation Wrangler SUV due out in 2018. Pricing on the Scrambler is said to be in the $40,000 range and at dealerships the first half of 2017. Fingers crossed the roof will be made of removable panels!
