Chevrolet Works With Trailer Associations to Improve Technology

Pine Belt 2 Two Chevrolet B-Segment Cars Coming to Markets

The beauty of a Chevy Truck or SUV is, in part, their capacity to tow. There are about 1.2 million work, RV, boat or horse trailers sold in the US each year. Chevy believes that now is a good time to work with the trailer industry to help them understand where the industry is going with technology. To that end, Chevrolet is partnering with the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RIVA) and the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) to create better more integrated trailering for owners.

Chevy will work directly with trailer manufacturers to improve trailering safety and create safety standards for the industry. Together they will collaborate to improve communication between trucks and trailers. “We are confident that we can collectively improve not only the towing experience for consumers but also public safety, which is why NATM is excited about working with Chevrolet,” said executive director of NATM Pam Trusdale.

General Motors’ future truck executive chief engineer, Tim Herrick, knows that owners of trucks are oftentimes towing something way more valuable than their truck (well, it depends on how much you really love your truck). “Unequivocally, they tell us that they are looking for a better towing experience. Safer, easier, with more integration between their trailer and their truck.”

Truck and tractor safety are extremely important and Bill Volz’s Westchester is eager to support efforts to improve technology and standards. Trucks today are more than workhorses for construction and farms. They are often huge investments and sometimes luxury vehicles, as well. Keeping everyone and everything safe when towing is critically important.

If you are in the market to upgrade your truck or see what is on the market today, come on in to Pine Belt Chevrolet. We’d love to meet you and show you around our incredible inventory of new and certified pre-owned trucks.

A Sedan For Our Time

chrysler-200-1

The Chrysler 200 is a sleek vehicle with a smooth ride. It has great technology and torque. The Chrysler 200 gets 36 miles per gallon on the highway. The Chrysler 200 is a sedan for our time.

A powerful 3.6 liter, Pentastar, V-6 engine is available on the 200 that delivers 295 horsepower. The standard engine on the Chrysler 200 is a 2.4 liter Tigershark MultiAir II, four-cylinder engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission which is operated by a knob on the console. Losing the shifter on the console opened up real estate for convenient cubby storage.

An Overall Five-Star Safety Rating has been awarded to the Chrysler 200 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 200 its best 2016 Top Safety Pick+ for scoring “Good” in each category of testing.

Luxurious is the feel of the Chrysler 200 interior. Top-tier materials such as leather and wood appear in the higher trims of the 200. Noise inside the cabin is minimal as the 200 is insulated well from outside noise. All but one trim of the 200 comes with the Uconnect Infotainment center that is extremely user friendly.

Most appreciated on the Chrysler 200 sedan is a trunk the size of Idaho. Well, maybe not Idaho, but it does have the largest trunk of any other midsize vehicle. A 60/40 rear seat split folds for carrying plenty of cargo.

Pine Belt Chrysler would love to show you all of the reasons and features that make the Chrysler 200 an excellent choice for your next vehicle. It’s power, styling and comfort make it best in the class of midsize sedans. We encourage and invite you to come into Pine Belt and take a test drive of the Chrysler 200 today. With it’s safety features and all-wheel drive, the Chrysler 200 is a perfect choice for winter driving. Why wait?

Chevy Equinox Gets Redesign for 2018

chevy-equinox

The last time the Chevrolet Equinox got a redesign was 2010. To improve sales on the compact SUV, Chevrolet did a remarkable revamp on the vehicle.

The new version of the Equinox is 400 pounds lighter and four-inches shorter. It features a smaller turning radius making it easier to park. And, GM has increased space on the interior.

The new Equinox will have three engines to choose from, including a 1.6 liter turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel that will get around 40 miles per gallon on the highway. Pretty impressive, 40-mpg in an SUV. With all the scandal of late with diesels made by another manufacturer, an improved diesel engine will certainly go a long way to help Equinox increase sales.

GM has been adding to diesels in quite a few of their lineups. The Chevy Cruze already has a version of this diesel engine under the hood. The Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups both have larger diesel four cylinder engines.

Diesel engines are still the most efficient internal combustion type engines and are important to achieving better fuel efficiency and emissions according to Tim Read, a GM spokesman.

The Equinox diesel arrives next summer, along with a new 252 horsepower four-cylinder gasoline engine. Earlier in the year, the Equinox will launch with a 170 horsepower four-cylinder engine.

An upgraded more upscale look has been designed and incorporated onto the Equinox. The doors and sides have lines similar to the Volt, Cruze and Malibu. Some changes to the front and rear make the new Chevrolet Equinox visually appealing.

Pine Belt Chevrolet believes this new edition to the compact SUV segment will get considerable attention and sales. Forty miles per gallon is something everyone will want to consider if they are in the market for a new vehicle—particularly an SUV. We hope that you will make Pine Belt Chevrolet your first stop when the new Chevrolet Equinox is available for a test-drive.
