The 4th generation model is equipped with a sharper and smarter steering. The new model is now equipped with a D-shaped steering, a wheel with smaller diameter than before.
The steering ratio of an electric power steering is 14:5:1. Moreover the bushing stiffness gearbox mount of Subaru has been increased by 230 percent.
There have been changes in WRX’s rear and front suspension as well. Its front suspension now has stiff cross-members with the rigidity getting increased for control arm bushings, larger stabilizer bar, thicker strut cylinder, higher lateral stiffness among many other technical changes.
Its turbo has now been mounted right beneath the vehicle’s boxer engine that has led to the increase in its crank pins to 50mm from the earlier 48.
Similar boxer sound is brought again by its exhaust system but is now tuned in a better manner as a cylinder chamber has now been abolished and the inside pipe has been shortened.
There have been upgrades in its brakes from 11.6 to 12.4 inches. The thickness of the brakes in the new Subaru WRX has gone up to 30 mm from 6 mm.
All the Subaru WRX models are equipped with 17-inch wheels and though the weight of the wheels has not changes as compared to the earlier model, the rigidity has gone up by 5 percent.
Base model and the WRX premium are two of the variants from Subaru WRX for Australia. The latter is powered with extra equipment.
Some of the colors in which Subaru WRX is available are ice silver metallic, crystal white pearl, dark gray metallic and galaxy blue silica among others. In total, the car is available in 7 different colors.
