Subaru Australia has started a new ad campaign to showcase the 2016 Subaru WRX. Subaru will be partnering with singer-songwriter Darren Hart to market the vehicle. Hart’s global fame came from his Jimi Hendrix-like guitar playing and unique combination of music genres. Titled “W-Wah-X,” the new ad campaign is meant to tap into the Australian market’s love for listening to amplified music when driving. In the online video titled “2016 Subaru WRX ‘W-WAH-X’ Premium featuring Harts | Official Subaru Australia,” Subaru Australia swaps the accelerator pedal in a 2016 WRX with a “Wah” guitar effects pedal. At an airfield in Australia, the sound of the vehicle’s acceleration was perfectly synced with the notes playing from Harts guitar and the rest of the band.
